Kinu waitlist privacy notice

The Kinu waitlist is for grown-ups who would like to hear about Kinu's early access and launch. Joining does not create a Kinu account or guarantee an invitation. This notice covers the waitlist, not the separate family app or its voice features.

What we collect and why

We collect your email address and a record of when and how you opted in, including the wording you agreed to. We also keep your confirmation or unsubscribe status and limited records of email delivery attempts.

We use this information to confirm your request, keep you on the early-access list and send Kinu early-access and launch updates you have asked for. We do not sell the waitlist or use it for third-party advertising.

The waitlist does not ask for children's names, voice recordings, payment details or listening history. Please use an adult's email address.

Confirmation and your choices

We send a confirmation email after you submit the form. You join the confirmed list only after using its confirmation link. That link expires after 48 hours.

You can leave through the unsubscribe link or ask us to remove your address at support@kinustories.com. If you did not request an email, you can ignore it or use its removal link.

Who helps us run it

Kinu uses Resend to deliver waitlist email, DigitalOcean to host the service and Cloudflare for website delivery and security. Resend receives the address and message needed to deliver the email. Our hosting and security providers may process basic connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. That connection information is not added to Kinu's subscriber record.

Your waitlist is not public. Access to its management tools is limited to authorized Kinu staff. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own service and data-processing arrangements.

How long we keep it

Unconfirmed requests expire after seven days. Once you confirm, your waitlist entry expires after 365 days unless you unsubscribe sooner. Expired entries are removed through the service's routine cleanup as it operates.

When you unsubscribe, Kinu removes your email address from the active waitlist. We keep a limited suppression record without your email address for up to 30 days to avoid immediately sending to an opted-out address. Application email-attempt records expire after seven days. Email providers and any backups can have separate retention schedules.
